One Too Many

I thought I would post a few cheeky photos from when me and my friends went to Leeds for Jess' birthday night out. It was so much fun and a lovely chance to do something different, get away from home and let loose. We went down Call Lane which is crowded with quirky cocktail bars-we took full advantage of. We all awoke with foggy memories and serious hangovers which we attempted to cure in the Slug and Lettuce.

We started with pre drinks in the hotel - Etap-very unglamourous but diiiiirt cheap. You can kind of tell in this photo that I've dip dyed my pony tail blue using soft pastels. Me and my friends had seen it on a blog before so thought we'd give it a go. It looked good but rubbed off on our clothes and skin so if you give it a go wear black and keep dyed hair off skin.

Obligatory group self timer shot. I wore my sparkly Topshop dress, sparkly socks, Topshop boots and Dorothy Perkins necklace.

Looking sober and behaving whilst drinking cocktails in Revolution.

Beyond tipsy at this point - drinking Clover Club cocktails (they have egg whites and gin in, sounds vile but are surprisingy tasty) in Neon Cactus.

                          I love my friends :)

I leave for Ireland tomorrow for another friend's birthday so I shall take my camera and get lots of photos as Belfast is a really cool place. I have lots of clothes to do a show and tell with you all too. Hope you all have a lovely weekend and have some exciting plans.

p.s
Hope you are all still recovering from eating a ridiculous amount of pancakes yesterday, it's definitely a day where eating yourself in to a food coma is law.

Nail Art Attack

I love nail painting, whether its just a simple slick of colour or covering my nails in gems and glitter, I always have something keeping the ends of my fingers looking pretty. My friends have recently been getting arty with their paint with aztec prints and leopard spots, so thought I best give it a go too. I decided to go for a cute and easy to start with strawberry. I'd seen them done in Thailand and thought they looked really cool. Here's my first attempt :)...

I don't think they look too bad at all. Especially as I don't have any proper utensils so had to make do with cocktail sticks and being as delicate as possible with normal nail polish brushes. I used 'Snatch' by Ciate for the base, 'Holly-Day' by China Glaze for the stalky bit and then 'Beautifully Black' by No.7 for the spots.

I'm going to buy some brushes and get a bit more adventurous with this nail art malarky. I've already found some designs on weheartit.com that have caught my eye...

                                  Marbled Madness

Harry Potter-definitely want to do these!

Delicate Florals - think this must be a nail wrap as it's so intricate.

                          SPONGEBOB SQUARE PANTS!!

                               Detailed Aztec

Mermaid's Tail - think this will be the next design I have a go at!

Thanks for reading!

Outfit Post

I would like to apologise for my recent lack of posting. I've had a very stressful, busy but successful week. I passed my driving test (wooh!), had an interview got the job-it's a 'proper' one too (yesss!) and have also just been to Leeds with my friends for a night out which was so much fun, lots of cocktails, dancing and laughing (photos to follow soon). I thought I would just do a quick outfit post today and tomorrow do something a bit more exciting.

This is my friend Lauren's belt,I love it and want one too, need to get ebaying! I've been naughty and done lots of shopping recently, ooooopsy, I keep telling myself it's in celebration of my driving test and job but I think I can only use that excuse for so long. I will upload photos of them all soon.

My step dad has finished watching the rugby (yawn) which means I can watch my future husband, Ashley Banjo do his thing on 'Got To Dance'.

Take care

Starburst, Studs And Sparkles

Here's a quick outfit post for you all.

     Studded shirt-Dorothy Perkins/Disco Pants-American Apparel/clutch bag-Miss Selfridge/Heels-Topshop

I love this shirt with my Disco Pants, I'm so glad I bought it and for a tenner it was an absolute steal. I've wanted sparkly socks to wear with my Topshop heels but couldn't find any anywhere so decided to chop an old pair of silver tights I owned that had laddered. They're a bit baggy around my ankles but slouched down I think they look quite good. I'm hoping to wear this outfit when I go to Belfast for one of my best friend's birthday so I'm hoping it doesn't snow as the white stuff will ruin my shoes as they're suede. Naughty snow!

We've actually just had a massive blizzard and my back garden now looks like Narnia, aaawwww. Me and Lauren are photoshooting tomorrow again as we thought all the snow would make pretty pictures. It just depends if Lauren is snowed in and can't drive, fingers crossed the roads are clear.

Hope you're all starting to the get that Friday feeling, I haven't as I'm working all weekend, blaaah!

Anyway thanks for reading :).

Take Me To My Beach

I helped my friend pack via Skype for her holiday to India she's going on tomorrow. Not going to lie, it was pretty tricky. The Indian culture is obviously so different from here and as my friend is Hindi wilst she's out there she has to cover up as much as possible. Doing this whilst still looking fashionable and trying to avoid overheating isn't easy. Her holiday wardrobe is consisting of various shirts, leggings, longer dresses and maxi skirts unfortunately strappy tops, levis and bikinis will have to wait until she's in touristy areas. We realised that jewellery and other accessories were going to be the way forward in keeping her looking cool and individual.

All the travelling talk got me incredibly jealous as I'd love to be somewhere hot and interesting as India. I started reminiscing about the month six of my friends and I spent backpacking around Thailand over last summer. I'd give anything to be back there.

I miss...

Being surrounded by insanely beautiful beaches; all with pearly, white sand and turquoise, iridescent sea.

           Phi Phi - Long Beach

Getting to eat breakfast in paradise with my best friend.

Paying practically nothing for accommodation with a view like this.

                    Koh Tao - Sairee Beach

Spending the night on Maya Bay, where The Beach was filmed. The thought that Leo once probably stood where I did gets me all hot under the collar.

Spending nights at crazy beach bars drinking ridiculously strong cocktails from buckets and having the best time.

            Koh Samui

                                          Koh Tao

Koh Phangan - Full Moon Party

The hustle and bustle of the streets, especially in Bangkok and Chang Mai. All filled with curious travellers; laden with cheap t-shirts, tie dye bags and copious amounts of hand made jewellery. Locals shouting and chatting; selling various rip offs, trips to tiger temples and hot, freshly made authentic cuisine. Which filled the thick, dense air with a pungent smell of chilli, herbs, oil and cooking meat.

Bangkok - Khao San Road, the smell of that street will stay with me forever.

                     Floating market - Bangkok

Thailand had the best markets, if you ever go I seriously recommend the weekend market in Bangkok. Two of my friends and I bought loads of clothes there for dirt cheap. Imagine vintage stalls where everything is £2, beautiful handmade leather bags, mounds of silver jewellery and clothing that you could imagine seeing in the highstreet back in England but selling for a fraction of the price.

Trying fried crickets which were surprisingly tasty.

Finally experiencing all this with my friends.

Elephant trekking - Chang Mai

Travelling by overnight train - my favourite way to travel.

I absolutely loved the excitement of arriving at a new place and not knowing where to stay or where to go. It definitely brought out the adventurer in me and has well and truly infected me with the travelling bug.

My only regret was not getting a Thailand inspired tattoo at this cool hut on Sairee Beach.

Take me back!

Outfit Post

A quick outfit post :).

        Jumper-H&M/Skirt-Zara/Boots-Doc Martens/Bag-Primark/Necklace-Dorothy Perkins/Earring-Topshop

This is one of the looks I did with Lauren. I love this jumper, you can't really tell in the photo but its metallic and adds a bit of sparkle to an outfit. The necklace and boots were also massive bargains, the necklace was £2 and I found the Docs whilst searching around Tynemouth Market near Newcastle and the lovely lady who was selling them let me buy them for a fiver.

I've spent today sledging and fooling around in the snow, it's been so much fun. Hope you have all enjoyed the snow and that it hasn't ruined any of your plans. However, I would very much like it to politely and swiftly 'do one' now though.

Thanks for reading.

Emma Stone

Regualarly when I'm bored I spend my time watching behind the scenes footage of Nylon Magazine photoshoots on youtube. They always have great people and are always styled so cool, I would shave my head to get an opportunity to work there.

Emma Stone's video is one of my favourites, I love the deep burgundy prom dress with leather biker jacket, also isn't she hilarious and really likeable in it? You could just imagine being friends with her.

I've been a massive fan of hers since she was in 'Superbad', she's witty, genuine, beautiful, seriously talented and also always looks great whether on or off the red carpet.

She had an amazing 2011, starring in hit films 'Friends with Benefits' which I loved, 'Crazy, Stupid, Love' where she got to get up close and personal with Ryan Gosling, too hot for words and also 'The Help'.

This year isn't slowing down with her taking the lead in 'The Amazing Spiderman' alongside Andrew Garfield, whose now her off-screen boyfriend, awwwww.

Don't they look great together? I love Emma's chocolate brown riding boots and camel coat.

I thought I would show you some of her red carper looks that I love, she seems to be getting it right everytime.

This Alexander McQueen black angular prom dress, is perfect on Emma. It's fun, flirty and has the vintage inspired style that suits her down to a tee. I love the detail on the bustier and the skull-and-horse clasp clutch bag. The looks finished with an up-do, red lippie and her flawless porcelain skin. There's something very Audrey Hepburn about it.

Emma always looks great in Lanvin (Golden Globes, a perfect example) and here she does again, in this colour block, long sleeved dress. The nude, black and rose look beautiful with her pale skin and copper red hair. The embellished crystal snake motif around the neck of the dress add an edge and quirkiness to it. I just wish she had worn her hair up so that detailing was more visible.

Everyone knows that emerald green on redheads is a match made in heaven making this Jason Wu gown spot on. I love the tree print, asymmetric hemling and tear drop cut out neckline. It's accessorised perfectly with a black waistbelt to accentuate her tiny waist and with a soft up-do making this look a winner.

This was one of my favourite red carpet outfits of Emma's from last year at the 'Crazy, Stupid, Love' premiere. She looks stunning in the structured, intricately designed lace cocktail dress by Tom Ford. It oozes sex appeal with a gothic twist and once again the black highlights her skin and flame red, 1950s curled hair. Once again opting for something daring and different, I think she looks incredible.

I can't wait to see what else Emma wears this year, hopefully she's saving something special for the Oscar's. To be fair, she can do no wrong in my eyes.

Lookbook

Yesterday I got to together with Lauren for a spot of charity shopping and then photoshooting for lookbook. I have been a fan of lookbook for quite some time now, using it for inspiration and just generally to be nosey but have never posted any pictures before. Since starting my blog I thought I should take the plunge and start uploading looks. I knew Lauren would be up for helping me as she regularly posts on lookbook, check out her profile here and is really good when it comes to photography. We were surprisingly productive, after getting over the initial embarrassment, lots of messing around and Lauren deciding to bring half her wardrobe to mine we managed to get quite a few looks done and some of them have turned out pretty good. I thought I'd share my first look her with you.

          Hat-Claire's/T-shirt-Topshop/Shorts-Levis/Heels-Topshop/Necklace-Galibardy

The t-shirt I'm wearing I actually bought yesterday from the sale at Topshop for a tenner, it was such a bargain and I thought it would also look good with my disco pants. I just could not resist it. My hat was another bargain from Manchester Airport, I was killing time whilst waiting to fly to see my dad and this bad boy caught my eye. I'd wanted a hat for a while but the only ones I could find we're all pretty expensive. This however, was just £8. I haven't worn it much as it's been too windy and I'm worried it'll get ruined in the rain so I'm hoping this spring and summer will have lots of  suitable hat wearing weather days.  We finished the day off with fajitas, melting chocolate and syrup puddings and then a pub quiz with some of our other friends, which was ridiculously hard. It was a really lovely day.

I've created my lookbook profile, so please check it out here.

Hope you have all had some fun recently.
Thank you for reading as always.

Lust List

I constantly have an ever enlarging lust list of clothes, jewellery and shoes that I covet. After failing my driving test yesterday (doh!), looks like my well earned pennies will be going in to another driving test and more lessons and not in to making my wardrobe beautiful. So unfortunately, my list will be increasing rather than decreasing, sad times.

  •  Vans Vulcanized/£44.99/Office

  •  Fringed Kimono-haven't located a reasonably priced one yet

  • Jeffrey Campbell Lita Spike/$184.95/envishoes

  •   Black Pleated Maxi Skirt/£30/Topshop

  •   Lace Pleat Flippy Dress/£36/Topshop

I wish I was rich. This list could have been way longer. I want fringing, delicate lace, bold colour blocking, pattern clashing and street sportswear now. I seriously need to pass my driving test.

Don't you think it's starting to get bloody cold again too? The snow best stay away, I have too much to look forward to this month that the dreaded white stuff would ruin. Hope you don't have any weather dependent plans either.

Thanks for reading.
